Say Goodbye to Microsoft’s Windows 7

Posted on: August 8, 2019

On January 14, 2020 — Microsoft’s support for Windows 7 will cease. That means no more updates or fixes, including security fixes after January 14. What does end of support mean? If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC may become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Your PC will continue to start and run, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following support for your business:

  1. There will be no technical support
  2. No software updates
  3. No security updates

That means any computer with these operating systems installed will be completely exposed to serious hacker attacks aimed at taking control of your network, stealing data, crashing your system and inflicting a host of other business-crippling problems you do NOT want to have to deal with.

This is such a serious threat that all companies housing financial and medical information are being required by law to upgrade any and all computer systems running Windows 7. This is because firewalls and anti-virus software will NOT be sufficient to completely protect them (or you).

Unless you don’t care about cyber criminals running rampant in your company’s network, you MUST upgrade any workstations running these operating systems. While January 14, 2020 may seem like a ways off today, updating an IT infrastructure is a large task that takes considerable time. It’s important you take action NOW, before it’s too late.

We are here to help

We are performing a Microsoft risk assessment and migration plan for customers that are currently running Windows 7 operating systems. If you believe that your network has some Windows 7 Operation Systems, give us a call at 330-655-8129 or go here to schedule your assessment and migration plan! If you are uncertain as to whether or not you have computers with the Windows 7 operating system installed, give us a call. Part of our assessment will be to run a full inventory and diagnostic of all the servers, PCs and devices connected to your network.

Don’t let this be the reason you get hacked and suffer from downtime and productivity loss.
